Frequently Asked Questions
- Do you teach online?
Yes. If you prefer to have lessons online, we can arrange to meet over Skype. Online and in-person lessons are charged at the same rate.
- Do you teach children?
Yes. I am happy to teach any age and can adapt lessons and materials to suit individual needs. I have experience teaching a range of ages, and have had all of the necessary background checks and clearances completed for working with children, which I can present on request.
- What are your group rates?
As well as providing one-on-one tutoring, I am happy to teach groups at a rate of $5 per additional student.
- What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, check (made payable to Nigel Naumann), and PayPal (send to email@example.com). A receipt will be issued at the time of any payment.
- When are payments due?
Payments are to be made in advance or on the day of lessons, and can cover one or more lessons. Any initial meetings used to arrange and discuss the course, as well as the first lesson, are free of charge. Payment will be expected from the second lesson onward.
- Is their a cancellation fee?
I request that in the event of a cancellation you would please provide at least two hours notice. A no-show (without notice), will be charged at the regular rate.
- How often can we meet?
I would recommend at least two lessons per week, but how often we meet is up to you. I am flexible and am happy to meet as many times as you like – the more the better.
- Do you supply the materials?
When relevant, loose paper hand-outs and exercises will be provided, but the core textbooks prescribed for the course will need to be purchased by the student. The textbooks required will vary depending on which course best suits the needs of the student.
- How much homework do you give?
In general, I would recommend at least two hours of self-study time for each hour of class time. Every course, however, is tailor-made, so the amount of homework will vary according to the needs and goals of the individual student.
